Contra Faustus

I almost looked it up before I quoted Augustine on Tuesday. But it sounded like Augustine to me and afterall, I am at the beach. But it got the better of me this morning and I looked for it. Close but no cigar. Perhaps someone used Augustine’s idea for their own apologetic. This is the actual quotation, so far as I can tell at this time: “For to believe what you please, and not to believe what you please, is to believe yourselves, and not the gospel.” —Augustine, Against Faust (Contra Faustus)
